5Day

None of these nice pictures were taken by me. Click on each individual picture to go to the photographers' Flickr page.

Hey, it's Five Day today! If you look at your calendar, you'll notice there's a numerical consistency about today's date.... 5 May '05. If it were a Friday it'd be even cooler, but ah well.

Five Days are pretty hard to come by, so all the more reason to celebrate. The last time a Five Day rolled around, it was 5 May 1955. The next Five Day will be 5 May 2055. Imagine that! We'll be old dodders by then. The ULTIMATE Five Day is 5 May, 5555. Sadly, it will fall on a Thursday.

In celebration of Five Day I am posting a link to Tuesday comic. It's a now defunct comic whose characters wore T-shirts emblazoned with the number 5 because the artist liked the number. Strangely enough, it made me want to get T-shirts with stars on them. Because, er, stars have 5 points. Anyway, check out the comic. It's cute and whimsical, and very sweet.

And if you're REALLY excited about Five Day, go try out these quizzes that feature the number 5. The Take Five Quiz and the Fives Quiz.

Happy 5Day! High five!

Hang on, thursday is the fifth day of the week, so U have another five. Which also means May 5, 5555 will also have seven 5s.

Nay, I am of the school of thought that believes that Monday is the first day of the week and Sunday is the seventh day. Cos God rested from creation on the Sabbath.
